Fabrication a Surgical Bed
Preparation of a surgical bed allows easy transfer of patients from surgery and the promotion of cleanliness and comfort. To make such a bed, take the following steps:
- Assemble machine as you would to make a bed unoccupied, including two clean sheets (one is provided, if available), a drawsheet, blanket, bathroom, carpet, or the spread sheet, one pillowcase , handkerchiefs, a trash bag, and linen saver. Raise the bed to a comfortable working height to avoid back pain.
- Slide the pad into a clean pillowcase and place it on a table or chair nearby.
- Make the Foundation of the bed using the bottom sheet and drawsheet.
- Place a blanket bath open 15A € ³ (38 cm) of the head of the bed, both with its center positioned in the middle of the bed. Cover warms the patient and prevents the body temperature drop caused by anesthesia.
- Place a top sheet or spread on the cover of Bath, and position it as you did the cover. Then fold the cover and back of the sheet up so that the cover shows on the sheet. Likewise, fold the sheet and blanket from the bottom (see Figure 1).
- On the side of the bed where you will receive the patient, fold the outer edge of the sheet and blanket so they meet in the middle of the bed (see Figure 2).
- Pick up the attachment point on this side of the bed, the sheets back and accordion on the other side of the bed so that the machine does not interfere with patient transfer (see Figure 3).
- Raise the bed in the up position if you have not already done so. Then the wheels from locking and reduce the side rails. Make sure the side rails function properly. Move the bedside stand and other objects out of the path of the stretcher to facilitate easy transfer when the patient arrives.
- After the patient is transferred to the bed, the position of the pillow for comfort and safety. Cover it by pulling on the high point of the sheet and a blanket over him and the bid opening. After covering the patient, get into bed linen at the foot of the bed and miter the corners.
- To make patient comfort and avoid unnecessary movement and change of linen, to try to anticipate and be ready for his special needs. For nausea, vomiting keep a pool, handkerchiefs, linen pads and save at his bedside. Also, remove all liquid night. If you expect bleeding or discharge, place one or more blocks on the bed.
- Keep on hand extra pillows to raise the arms and legs to promote circulation, thus preventing edema. If necessary, have IV equipment, suction apparatus, roller to transfer the patient, or other special equipment loan.
